What Does Archbishop Makgoba hope Bishop Schori will share with ACSA Bishops? Part 2

Dear friends

The saga continues, this Bishop has some, shall we say very interesting views.  I am still puzzled as to what the leadership of this province is hoping that she will share with our Bishops that is going to add value to our life as a church.  The most disturbing of her actions is the total disregard of Canon Law when dealing with shall we say “dissent orthodox clergy”.  However that is not such an issue in this province as the Law of the land provides clergy No Protection, As we are often reminded.

DENYING THE CREEDS

―Those creeds are not about checking off a bunch of propositions. They are about giving our heart to a sense that Jesus shows us what it looks like to be a divine human being.‖ Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, Parabola, Spring 2007
―You don‘t all have to profess exactly the same understandings of the central tenets of the faith,‖ she added. ―What‘s important is to worship together.‖ Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, San Diego Union-Tribune, April 5, 2008

DENYING BIBLICAL STANDARDS FOR SEXUALITY

―Holiness and wholeness and health all come from the same root in English, and they‘re related quite intimately to the word ‘salvation‘. Living a holy life, living a whole and full life, is one of our understandings of what salvation means, and when Jesus says ‗I came that you might have life and have it abundantly‘, he certainly means in the fullness of our beings, and if we understand that some people are created, are born, in this world with affections ordered toward those of the same gender, then perhaps it means we need to pay attention to that.‖ Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori, ABC Radio, The Religion Report, July 26, 2006

TEC non-compliance with Anglican Communion requests

TEC non-compliance with Anglican Communion requests for moratoria on same sex blessings and consecrations to the episcopate of persons in homosexual relationships Documenting chronologically diocesan resolutions which defy Anglican Communion calls for moratoria on same sex blessings and consecrations to the episcopate of persons in homosexual relationships by (1) calling for the repeal of General Convention 2006 resolution B033, (2) weakening the definition of traditional Christian marriage, and (3) promoting the creation of rites for same-sex blessings.

A litany of litigation.

Bishop Schori has instituted litigation against othodox clergy and congregations within the USA on an unprecedented scale.  These have been against any parish, diocese or congregation that has refused to comply with the liberal (usually on the maorality issues) slide of the Diocese or the General convention.  Included in the list of churches caught in these law suits are some of the oldest Anglican Churches in the US, the Falls Church in Virginia is an example.  The law suits are all about demanding the orhtodox hand over their church property, which they paid for as a community, to the more liberal members who refuse to stand against the liberal shifts of the TEC.
